First Look ‘Last Chance Motel’

First Look at Danielle Harris & Scout Taylor-Compton’s Star-Studded Slasher ‘Last Chance Motel’

Halloween franchise favorites Scout Taylor-Compton and Danielle Harris teamed up to write, direct, produce, and star in Last Chance Motel, and the first images have surfaced.

The Horror Collective has acquired the worldwide rights to the horror-thriller. Parent company Studio Dome will introduce the film to international buyers at this week’s Cannes film market.

Last Chance Motel follows a newlywed couple whose dream wedding spirals into a bloody nightmare when they uncover that their secluded venue, a desolate motel deep in the Nevada desert, is run by a relentless bloodthirsty family with dark secrets.

Described as a pulse-pounding psychological thriller with horror elements, the film pays homage to classic slashers while injecting a modern psychological twist, delivering a contained, high-concept genre piece.

Heather Langenkamp (A Nightmare on Elm Street), Sierra McCormick (The Vast of Night), Zachary Roozen (Attack of the Killer Tomatoes: Organic Intelligence), Robert Allen Mukes (House of 1000 Corpses), Shane West (“Salem”), and Monica Keena (Freddy vs. Jason) round out the cast.

Brandon Slagle (Attack of the Unknown) co-wrote the screenplay with Taylor-Compton and Harris. Daemon Hillin (Death of Me) of Hillin Entertainment produces alongside Taylor-Compton and Harris’ Talk Scary Productions.

“We knew exactly what kind of film the genre is missing right now: a tight, mean, character-driven slasher that doesn’t apologize for being horror,” said Harris. “We’ve been on the receiving end of the camera for 40 years between us. We know what works. We know what fans actually want to see. Last Chance Motel is built from that DNA.”

“Horror has always been the genre that holds a mirror up to what scares us most — and right now, audiences are hungry for stories that feel both visceral and personal,” added Taylor-Compton. “Last Chance Motel is a film I’m incredibly proud of, and I think it speaks to something universal: the idea that danger can hide in the most ordinary places. Danielle and I poured everything into this — as producers, as directors, as performers — and I genuinely believe this is a film that will stay with you long after the credits roll.” —Bloody-Disgusting.com
